Staff Information

We were sorry to say goodbye to Ami Shears, who left on the 1st November to go on maternity leave. We wish her and her partner every joy with the forthcoming baby. We will update you with the news when the baby arrives. Billy Farrell (deputy manager), will be manager of Aldenham site during Ami’s absence and Laura Hester is the Butterfly Room Leader. Any queries in future to be directed to Billy or Laura.

We are delighted to announce that the Deputy Manager of Shenley, Kelly Marshall, is also expecting a baby and will be going on maternity leave at the end of this term. We wish her and her partner every joy with their 2nd child. We will advise you of the child’s birth in due course.

Training

Currently there are six members of staff training for NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education. These are Beverley Samuels, Vanessa Spalter and Ruth Gold from our Shenley site, Suzannah Wagle, from our Kent Lodge/Aldenham sites and Mina Patel and Chanel Charles from our Aldenham site. Billy Farrell is training for an Early Years Foundation Degree with the Open University and Rose Glover, Kent Lodge, who is in the process of arranging to study for Early Years Professional Status. We are very proud of our staffs’ commitment to continued professional development and support them in their research and studies.

Notes for your diary

Parent Consultations at all three sites, are the week beginning 28th November 2011. Please note the date of your child’s key worker group and fill in the time for your appointment. Forms are posted on the front door of the relevant schools.

End of term concerts dates are as follows:

Shenley – Tuesday 6th December – Check information on front door

Kent Lodge – Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th December – Check information on front door

Aldenham – Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th December – Check information on front door

Can we please remind all parents that Friday 16th December is staff inset day and all three sites will be closed.

The schools close on Thursday 15th December, Aldenham re-opens on Tuesday 3rd January 2012 and Kent Lodge and Shenley on Monday 9th January 2012.

A reminder to parents to please send a change of clothes in their child’s school bag, including underwear and socks. As the weather is becoming colder please provide your child with appropriate clothing, for example a warm coat, hat and suitable shoes for both indoor and outdoor play. It is not safe for children to wear wellingtons all day at the settings. Please name all items of clothing.

Aldenham parents – Butterfly children. There is a weekly letter of the week. Could you please discuss this with your child and together choose an item or object to bring to nursery for group discussion.
